I'm a total PC amateur and made a stupid mistake.
I bought a used desktop with a MSI motherboard and an i7 8700 CPU
Fitted a GTX 1070. Everything worked great so I ignored the fact that the NXZT circular component on top of the CPU was no longer lit.
After a week, blank screen.
Stripped everything back and realised that 'circular component' was the cooling system for the CPU (including a radiator)
The CPU was too hot to touch.
Question: Is it likely I cooked the CPU and that's the reason that I have a blank screen.
The motherboard LED has the DRAM EZBUG light on. I reseated all the ram and it made no difference.
Any advice would be appreciated
