Hi,
I am an artist from Norway who currently uses a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017).
I work with 3D animation in blender and I use After Effects for editing. I don't use Premier Pro. Which is probably stupid - I know... but I'm able to do exactly what I want on after effects - its like photoshop for video. I also have super heavy files that I work with...
I'm going to also learn premier Pro - but I have noticed that its a lot that I can to there and that I have to learn to switch between premier and after effects.
Ive recently filmed 4K for a new project and I can't even edit normal h264 video without a serious lag in after effects AND premier pro.
I'm wondering if I could work seamlessly if I buy the newest iMac Pro. If that will be the solution to all my problems.
I also have a deadline on February for this project. So I need to find a solution that will be as seamless and stressless as possible.
However I've always also felt that building your own ( or in my case paying someone else to do it) gives you a much better result.
My questions are:
1. for the price of an iMac which is roughly 60.000 NOK = ca. 6000 euro - Should I pay someone to build me a computer? Main workload is After Effects. ( & premier pro.... ) I don't want to upgrade in near future but rather just go all inn now and be settled for a good while.
2. Do you have any thoughts on what issues could I meet when working between MAC and WINDOWS? ( because I will stilll be using my Mac for photoshop illustrator and blender) and ( Should I stop editing films in after effects?)
this is the result I got from the builder:
CGDirector.com Parts List: https://www.cgdirector.com/pc-builder/?=Ol1Snpj0yfl

kind regards,
LK
