PC for 4K Video and Photo Editing - Power Director and Photoshop

Hey,

I am looking to build a PC (at ~$1500) mainly for my video editing (mostly 4K, but future proof for higher resolution) . I currently use Power Director and may upgrade to Premier Pro. Minimal gaming. Can you please give me feedback on the build below? Also, I have 2 questions:

1. I already have a 4 TB WD NAS at home, so dont need to buy too much storage. If I were to buy just 512G or 1TB SDD storage, which one would you recommend.

2. Would you recommend a EVGA 2060 GPU that you would recommend over MSI? does that even make a difference?

I used to build my PCs as a kid, but the game has changed in the last 15 years . Any recommendations will be great.

Hey Rahul!
The 4TB NAS is great, but do note, that external or LAN-Attached Storages can be a bit slower than internal HDDs and especially internal SSDs / NVMe SSDs.

So if you have the possibility to have your active work projects and footage on your fast internal drives (and use the NAS for backups / archiving), this would make sure you use the highest performance possible.

There is no big difference between the different GPU brands, both EVGA and MSI are excellent brands and the differences are usually just the cooling solution, the looks of the GPU, and some minor boost settings that might marginally increase the performance of the GPU. But these differences are usually so small that I'd just get whatever is cheapest but still from a reputable brand like asus, evga, msi or gigabyte.

The build list looks great for Video Editing and Photoshop, and I see no issues whatsoever As you already said, you could just skip some of the drives. Just get the single PCIE-SSD: Crucial P1 1TB, and use that as your active project drive, and when your project is done, back it up / archive it on your NAS.

Hey Alex, thanks for guidance. Decided to move forward with this set up (but decided to get 3900X instead of 3800X). The MSI RTX 2060 6 GB isnt available anymore (rather available for $800). Would you be able to recommend an alternate?
